2015 Summer Reading Program "Every Hero Has a Story"

Summer Reading Program began the week of June 8, 2015.  There is still time to come in, register, and start reading. (Early registration began on Monday, June 1, 2015.)

Elementary Age (K-5th Grades)  Wednesday or Friday at 1:00 p.m. Each event is approximately 45-60 minutes.

*NOTE* Registration is required for each event, 929-3771. If your child registers for a program and is unable to attend, please contact the library.

Dates for Wednesday events:

READ DOG visit: July 8th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. 

  • July 8 - Superhero gear part 1-DIY Cape from T-shirts
  • July 15 - Superhero gear part 2-DIY Duct tape wrist bands and belts
  • July 22 - Superhero gear part 3-DIY Masks and power rings

Dates for Friday events:

  • July 10 - Performer: Nature’s Niche presents “The Critter Crusader and the Creature Teachers”
  • July 17 - Spiderman
  • July 24 - Finale

Free Special Events

  • July 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
    Dennis Tlachac-Nature's Niche: Environmental Educator / Live Animal Handler presents “The Critter Crusader and the Creature Teachers.”
    The presentation will have live animals with special stories to teach, and Dino will allow you to interact with them. The animals used in the program have been adopted from wildlife rescues and humane societies.
  • Friday, July 24, 2015 from 1:00-2:15 p.m.
    “Every Hero Has a Story” Finale
    Join us as we close the Summer Reading Program with carnival games, prizes, crafts, and sundaes. Special guests include Elsa and Ana from Disney’s Frozen. Bring your cameras.

Family and Preschool Story Times

Let’s explore our everyday heroes!

Join us as we read stories, complete craft projects, sing songs, and perform finger plays. Each Story Time lasts about 30 minutes.

Family Night (All ages) Preschool (Ages 2 ½ -5)
No registration required. No registration required.
Thursday from 6:30-7:00 p.m. Friday from 10:00-10:30 a.m.
