Wireless
Internet Access Available at the Library!
The
Spillman Library is now offering wireless
connections to the library's Internet service. Bring in your laptop
and take
advantage of this free service.

Internet
access is provided via 802.11g wireless access points
- Compatable
with 802.11b and 802.11g network cards
- Your
laptop must be configured to use DHCP; instructions will be available
to reset your laptop to use DHCP.
- Beyond
providing basic instructions, library staff cannot assist you
with configuring your laptop or to troubleshoot
individual problems.
Ask at our
circulation desk to receive instructions.
Users
are expected to follow the library's Internet Access Policy, especially
as it pertains to acceptable use in a public setting.
Two
parts of the library's Policy that should be noted as they address the
above statement are:
Users
may not use library terminals for any activity that is offensive or creates
an intimidating or hostile environment. Not sending, receiving or
displaying text or graphics which may reasonably be construed as obscene.
Displaying of sexually suggestive objects or pictures could be in violation
of State or Federal obscenity laws.
Respect
the privacy of others by not misrepresenting oneself as another user,
by not attempting to modify or gain access to files, passwords, or data
belonging to others, by not seeking unauthorized access to any computer
system or damaging or altering software components of any network or database.
Further
respecting the privacy of others using public access workstations
at Spillman
Library by not interfering with their use.
We
also offer free Internet access at two publicly-accessible PCs in the
library. Reservation for use can be made by calling the library. |
